“I have two sons involved in Tae Kwon Do. My oldest son started out as a Karate Kub and is now a 1st degree black belt. After watching his brother for many years, my youngest son couldn’t wait to become a Karate Kub and is currently an orange stripe belt in the class. Both my boys love Taekwondo! They have gained so much from the experience - self-confidence, responsibility, focus, and new friends.... >learn more
“When my 7-year-old son came home from school saying he wanted to take Tae Kwon Do I wasn’t sure what to think. Having never taken martial arts training I needed to do a little research. So I visited almost a dozen schools to observe the training and talk to the instructors. I learned that there are probably as many ways to teach martial arts as there are schools. One thing that really separates American Legacy Martial Arts from the rest is how well Ms. Bushey and Mr. Smail know their students.... >learn more
“To the Staff of Legacy American Martial Arts,
I am writing this letter to say “Thank you.” My story may be a bit different from some of the others that are participating in your class. Like my fellow students, I have benefited immensely from my participation in Tai Chi classes.
I was very skeptical of doing Tai Chi and Qigong meditation but my back was against the wall and I was being told that if I did not make a life altering change that I would have severe health repercussions...>learn more

Confidence, exercise, self discipline, self defense; these are just a few of many reasons for your child to become involved in the martial arts. Children who study a martial art often become more confident, self-regulated, and better focused students and citizens.
Our teaching system is based on character building life skills in addition to the physical and technical skills of taekwondo. Beginner students learn the basic techniques associated with taekwondo. Advanced students are further motivated with the addition of advanced movement and free sparring. Junior Taekwondo students also learn practical abuse and abduction prevention with our Safety N.E.T. Kids curriculum.
Instructors: Ms. Bushey, Mr. Smail, & Dr. DeHaut
Junior Beginner Times: Monday, Wednesday at 4:30pm and 5:45pm, and Friday at 6:00pm

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a grappling martial art that focuses on the principles of leverage, timing, and efficiency of movement rather than strength and size to defeat opponents.
Practical application is central to BJJ, and techniques are practiced with a partner to ensure they can be used either for tournament or self-defense situations. Through training students gain a greater awareness of their bodies, confidence in the effectiveness of their movements, and a deeper understanding of themselves and their capabilities.
Instructor: Mr. Smail
Teen & Adult BJJ Class: Monday 7:30pm, Wednesday 8:15pm, Friday 7:15pm, and Saturday at 11:00am
“I decided to look into Martial Arts so that my son and I could do something together and I really wanted to get in better shape. I never thought that 2 years later I would be a 1st degree Black Belt in Taekwondo. I had looked into other schools and just never really got "excited" about them. Mr. Smail and Ms. Bushey have this amazing partnership and that really creates a positive and fun atmosphere no matter your age or reason for coming.... >learn more
